Untitled Document NATIONAL ROSE GARDEN
Ongoing
Woolmers Estate, Woolmers Lane, Longford;
6391 2230 www.woolmers.com.au
Now is the best possible time of year to smell – and see - the amazing National Rose Garden.
There are over five thousand plants in full bloom. This rose garden takes you on a journey through the history of the rose. Starting with charming wild or species roses you progress through all the rose
families; you’ll find blousy, high perfumed, old roses and move on to 20th century long-stemmed blooms.
Guided tours of this historic property, with its fascinating convict history, are available. It is one of Australia’s finest examples of a pioneer farm of the early 1800s.
