Welcome to Tasmania in Spring

The COLOURS OF WYNYARD annual festival (5 September to 17 October) features a string of local cultural and community events to coincide with the magnificent tulip season.

The festival's highlight is the BLOOMIN' TULIPS FESTIVAL DAY on 9 October, which is celebrated with music, markets, food and fireworks against a background of thousands of tulips in full bloom.

Step off the Midlands Highway and back in time to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the OATLANDS SPRING FESTIVAL on 17 October, when visitors will parade in costumes from the 1820s through to the 1970s.

Follow the flower trail to Hobart and the SPRING COMMUNITY FESTIVAL on 2-3 October at the Royal Botanical Gardens, where there'll be fun, food and events for young and old.

Beer lovers take heart, it's not just about flowers, the SHEFFIELD 36th STEEL CITY BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL (30 September to 2 October) will have over 150 beers and ciders to try.

And finally, no trip would be complete without visiting the state's magnificent NATIONAL TRUST properties. Visit www.nationaltrusttas.org.au
